Words of Welcome from the Headmaster

Welcome to Gebrüder-Humboldt-School in Wedel!

For me, the initials GHS do not only stand for the brilliant Humboldt brothers, who were leading figures in 18th- and 19th-century Germany and emphasized the importance of helping every young person discover and develop their diverse talents. They also stand for the values that are especially important to us as a school community: Gesundheit (health), Humanität (humanity), and Solidarität (solidarity).

We continually develop our school in line with this mission statement:

Health: We understand it holistically, including physical, mental, spiritual, social, and ecological well-being. We are convinced that only someone who feels comfortable can achieve lasting and meaningful performance.

Humanity: For us, individuals are always more important than the performance they achieve. Our goal is to perceive and support our students as unique individuals.

Solidarity: In a community where everyone treats each other with respect and appreciation, students grow into healthy and strong individuals.
